100% in agreement! I just think that Kodaka is at his best when he only has a specific group of characters to manage (I also loved and finished World's End Club) and opening things up to more traditional one-off NPC encounters hurts his writing a bit. I'm also excited for 2x2 because I hope there's—
Much of the discourse around Hal Jordan’s depiction in Lanterns boils down to a sad truth: Many audience members (often my fellow nerds) have an extremely difficult time with the fact that characters can make suboptimal decisions that still serve the story. And when they do, it’s often the point.
@artbykowachi.bsky.social Im Zero media for the new show & have no idea the characters personality So super blind except the story tease. so I thought Pavi can’t fight since her design look soft to me but looking at this fan animation remind me kids can be badasses! bsky.app/profile/kloy...
I'd say that it's very much doing the indie western animation bit of presenting itself as a kids' cartoon stylistically while having characters swear and making references that wouldn't hit with a target audience of kids, but in terms of deeper substance, it's only had an 11-minute pilot so far

#90YearsOfComics The 1975 Comic of the Year: Warlock issue 9 by Jim Starlin with Steve Leialoha and Tom Orzechowski Begun as a feature in Strange Tales, Jim Starlin's trippy cosmic odyssey spins off into a solo series, using far-out characters and concepts that fuel the Marvel Universe for decades.
For me, The Morning Show is an example of what can happen when a TV show has multiple seasons and gets the chance to fully flesh out characters and story lines. Season 4 hit like season 1. It kept my attention. It surprised me. It excited me. It reclaimed recipes that we have lost with most streaming platforms. Apple TV is keeping us fed with original stories. And thee acting! I love when a talented actor gets to flex their muscles.
