The Sopranos Enduring Legacy

Paramount has been shooting several different shows within a a few miles of my house here in Fort Worth, Texas. Landman, Lioness and Tulsa King. Also just saw Samuel L. Jackson's bus downtown. This activity has been going on a few years and is significantly increasing. My money is on Fort Worth.

If I could watch a television series for the first time again it would be Sense8. The combination of beautiful people, queer characters and good storytelling (with an occasional orgy thrown in) had me hooked.

We were going to call the Sundays series “WideScreen Calvin & Hobbes”, because the whole pan-and-scan vs letterbox” thing on TV & VHS rentals was hot at the time, & comic reprints tended to reformat Sunday pages, sometimes screwing up the storytelling! Sadly, it never got beyond the mock-up stage.

A Louisiana newspaper at the time played on white victimhood: “we are banding together in White League army, drawn up only on the defensive, exasperated by continual wrong … but acting under Christian … leaders, and determined to defeat these negroes … on the soil of our nativity … or perish” #otd
