Being gay, I saw Saved! and it was among the few mainstream films which sympathized with gay characters while I was growing up in the 00s. Jena Malone plays a good Christian girl who gets pregnant and becomes an outsider within the Bible Belt environment of her smalltown. The Popular Girl is Hilary Stockard, played by Mandy Moore, the lead of the junior singing girl group, the Christian Jewels, who perform in angel wings and perform the kind of Christ
